10 Shopify Store Issues That Can Cost You Sales

The recurring problems I find in store audits — most of them are invisible to the owner and obvious to the customer.

The list

1. Slow mobile load times, usually caused by oversized images and unused apps.

2. Product pages that describe features but never state the benefit.

3. Shipping cost revealed only at the final checkout step.

4. No visible returns or guarantee policy.

5. Reviews buried far below the buy button, or missing entirely.

6. Navigation built around internal categories instead of how customers shop.

7. Search that returns nothing useful for common queries.

8. Discount and promotion logic that behaves unpredictably at checkout.

9. No abandoned cart recovery running.

10. Analytics not configured, so none of the above can be measured.

How to work through them

Fix in order of revenue impact, not effort. Speed and checkout issues usually pay back fastest, followed by product page structure and trust signals.

Change one thing at a time where volume allows, so you can attribute the lift.
